EHS Coordinator Safaa Elmi has been named to Canadian Occupational Safety’s inaugural Young Achievers list. The award honours safety professionals under the age of 35 who have exemplified a commitment to their safety profession and passion for the industry.
Safaa’s professional desire, knowledge, and determination in strengthening QM’s workplace safety culture has positively impacted the lives of employees and reaffirms here place among the 40 like-minded professionals on the Young Achievers list.
Since joining QM Environmental in 2022, Safaa has devoted much of her career in the East Region by making an impact in the Port Lands Flood Protection and Enabling Infrastructure project in downtown Toronto. Known for being adaptable with high attention for detail, Safaa has worked hard to ensure the team at Port Lands complies with safety requirements and achieves continual improvement.
Safaa has also contributed immensely to updates to key processes and programs for the national EHS program. She has been instrumental in successfully rolling out the electronic management system and analytics dashboards at the Port Lands site by ensuring that feedback from the field is incorporated into the system. With her commitment and focus, Safaa has enabled her team to become more proactive.
