Canadian champions of occupational health and safety across all industries took centre stage in Toronto to celebrate outstanding programs and professionals, and QM Environmental took home one of the top awards.
President and CEO Agnes Wietrzynski was awarded ‘The WSPS Award for CEO of the Year’ at the 14th annual Canada’s Safest Employers Awards. The accolade recognizes the CEO who has driven successful safety strategies by putting people first and championing innovative safety values.
Criteria during the judgement process included evidence of skills which inspire, engage, and excite the workforce about safety, demonstrated commitment to safety as a strategic business objective, and an executive who actively drives safety initiatives through open communication and support.
Working in lockstep on these initiatives is Melissa Clarke, Vice President of Environmental, Health and Safety. The two-time recipient of Canadian Occupational Safety Magazine’s Top Women in Safety was nominated as an excellence awardee for ‘The BGIS Award for Safety Leader of the Year.’
Additionally, QM Environmental was shortlisted as an excellence awardee for ‘Canada’s Safest Construction Employer,’ further solidifying our commitment to safety from the executive level to the frontline staff.
